Winchester 37 TR

I heard one wives tail that it was the "Teddy Roosevelt" model. I heard another that it was the "Trap Rhino" model. Both of which of course are certainly false. I also heard the Thailand story Raton mentioned above, which I think is the most plausible of the ones I heard and makes sense.

I agree on that. The Thai style art on the receiver be a dead giveaway fer me.

I have heard the Thailand story as well.If so,I wonder why TR was used ,as there is no R in Thailand.

Also had heard,it was one of the reasons the Cooey plant was shut down.At the time,so the story goes, the United States had a trade embargo on Thailand and did not want firearms sold to Thailand. The U.S. government then put pressure on Winchester to stop selling the Canadian made guns to Thailand.Winchester then shut down the Canadian plant.

Do not know if it is true, but it does make a nice story.:)
