winchester 370 problem.

I have an old Win 370 single shot...I took it out today and found the hammer extremely hard to ####, and the trigger pull horrendous. The problem goes away when I #### it with the action is open.

I tried putting a bit of oil around the trigger...no results.

Any ideas???
