Just bought a nice Winchester 1910 semi auto that fires the .401 SL cartridge.

I collect very old guns but don't often shoot them.

55 cartridges came with the gun (9 WRAC, 5 Kyncoh, 1 Remington and 40 reworked/reloaded .303 to .401)

What are these cartridges worth ?

the factory loaded are in the 3 to 4 dollar range for collectors depending on condition .The formed ones are shooting ammo and depending on how many times they were fired and are also worth a few dollars as it does take time to make them up .

on the bright side if the 1910 is in working order run the formed ammo through it and have some fun .These old rifles are quite a thumper and a blast to shoot and easy to reload as you already have the formed brass.

There's a guy, Stateside, who has 1 box of Remington "Kleanbore" box with clean, original factory rounds that he wants $100 USD for.
The bubba'd .303's are worthless to a collector. Might be ok for shooting, except you'd have to find bullets or cast 'em. Uses .406" bullets. Summach Sports in AB sells jacketed .406" SP bullets at $60 per 50. I have data if you need/want it.
The Kynoch is likely the most valuable.

I also have a .401 sl and am having a bugger of a time trying to find brass and bullets. I have the Die's for it. Could someone point me in the right direction or tell me if there is or what other size of brass that I can use. Want to reload them myself. Thx in advance.

We have one we have on our tables at gun shows. There is some factory ammo for it. A couple of people have told me that you can make usable brass from 7.62x39 brass. Anyone know about this? Is it possible?

that is true you can make very useable cartridges from 762x39 by runing them into the die and then turn off the small belt that forms just above the exractor grove ,size again .Anneal the shoulder /neck area and fire form in the rifle .Trim level and ready to load
