I don't see mention of this powder in any information I have. It was given to me by someone who hasn't reloaded shotshells for at least 20 years. I was wondering if it was renamed to something Winchester currently carries, or if it's obsolete. I was wanting to use it for pistol loads, but if I can't find any data it's of no use to me. Do any of you seasoned veterans remember this product?

I was hoping it would be useful for .38 special and .357 magnum with cast bullets.

I have old 10th edition Win catalog and for 38 sp it says max 2,9gr of 452AA with 148gr WC for 800fps at 12 500CUP. Also max of 3,4gr of 452AA with 158gr lead SWC for 845fps at 15 500CUP. No mentioning loads for 357mag, I guess that powder would be to fast for it but in my opinion the same loads as in 38sp or ever so slightly more ( be carefull ) would work in 357mag just fine.

The Winchester #10 free hand out has info
best way to burn it off would be to load trap/skeet target loads if you got powder for free you could load for $3-4 a box of 25

limited info for other calibers unless you can find reloading books at least 20 years old

One thing that you want to watch with 452AA is it is quite temp sensitive ! But oposite to other powders , as the temp goes down the pressure can take a spike fairly quickly ! I have burned up close to 2 lbs of it recently in .45 auto with NON MAGNUM primers and 200 and 230 gr cast boolits as it does not like to be lit off with them (eratic accuracy) and really like it . Very clean and accurate . Now I just wish I could get more !
