Winchester 59 - ok for slugs or steel?

There are a few of these around from time to time for a decent price...but are they worth picking up?

I think these have alloy receivers, and fiberglass-wrapped steel barrels... are they ok for slugs, or steel shot?

What's the general opinion of the short-recoil system? Reliable?

I've got the trap version of the model 50... I like it.
The floating chamber does a really good job at reducing felt recoil... to the point that I am always surprised by the kick of a regular O/U!

The bolt assembly can be somewhat of a challenge to take apart/ put back togheter...

Personnaly, I wouldn't shoot steel out of these...

I use my model 59 for upland only. No steel, no slugs, no magnum loads.
