Hey all,

I have a Winchester 70 (30-06). The rifle is in its original box, and was manufactured in 1972. It is Win's deluxe model, beautiful wood, jeweled bolt, etc.

This rifle has never been fired. What sources to you recommend to estimate its worth?

Thanks for your feedback!

Pre-64 unfired $1800 plus,plus......post-64 unfired..maybe $700...unless higher grade, value would be the same(approx.)as a new gun today that is similar or slightly less....but I'm no expert. Have fun and go shootin' with it, it'll never fund your or your kids' edumacation.

A blued/walnut push feed Model 70 is worth no more than any other new blued/walnut rifle today. A blued/walnut Ruger M77 can be had NIB for about $700....a Vanguard ot Tikka T3, about the same.

Personally, I'd pay no more than $600....and I'd have to want it really badly.

If it is a Delux and in the condition described the US value is pegged at around $625.00. At present, Canadian value would likely be similar--not much collecter interest in that model or time period. Keep it mint and put it away for your kids--value may improve in years to come--if you shoot it or damage the box, etc--it is just a shooter and valued accordingly.

FWIW, 44Bore

$550 is all it's worth. There's better push feeds on the market at a comparable price point thus the low price.

Potential consumers are the best source of information for price point. After all, we're the guys you'll try to sell it to on the EE. And there's nobody here trying to con you into a lowball starting price. Post 64's don't command much for resale.
