6.5x55What cartridge specifically?
For the cost of a winxhester 70
Juat buy a big horn origen action way more stoxk trigger options
And they are a control feed fixed ejector
As noted above, don't want a push feed. Would prefer CRF and they are quite hard to find.Just buy one in 6.5x55. They did make them. - dan
Definitely agreed on that.If I were making up a M70 in 6.5x55, I'd be doing the barrel installation myself - and I'd choose a push feed ahead of a CRF. The CRF requires a coned barrel breech with extractor cut. PITA to do compared with a push feed, and inferior in the event of a case failure. The CRF has the mystique, but truth be told, it is not superior.
Nice but way too light for me, not my interest at all. YMMV.Kimber 84L
I had this 84L classic rebarreled to 7x57 with a slightly heavier tube. Perfect balance and definitely not too light.Nice but way too light for me, not my interest at all. YMMV.

The one piece bolt dosent really matter it can be pinned if wanted (they don’t come off like rem 700 handles have been known to). The classics I’ve had always feed excellent. Williams made non mim extractors (they’re outa business now).Thats cool!
Since I have both, was kind of wondering if the features of the pre 64 outweigh the stainless. Like the one piece bolt, feed ramps machined directly into the receiver, stronger extractor than the one on a Classic, etc.
The Classics have always done well for me too though, and stainless is nice.

Call Darcy Echols and pic his brain ive talked to him before about some of the early classics with cast receivers that looked like dog sh*t bellow the stock line. Hes forthcoming with info.
