Really, the 200' SPs are probably all you would ever need, but the 250's do pack a wallop! I have used them mostly on baited bears... they have proven to be excellent in that scenario. I mostly change up to Partitions for hunting moose, but use the HC's for bears over bait. I think with an 88, I would stick with the 200's... that is what I currently use in the BLR. Since I made the quintessential bear rifle, Ruger M77 Mark II Stainless Carbine in .350 Rem Mag, that is mostly what I use, with the 250 Partition... pretty good moose rifle aswell.
