I am looking to replace the stock on my trapper. I bought a used win 94 stock set but it doesn’t fit because of the spring in the tang of my gun. Does the trapper have a different stock than regular 94? Hard to find online except from US that won’t ship to Canada.

You can't just make that stock work? Some fitting, wood removal etc. Or is it just too different?

That's weird, I don't think that there should be any difference in any 94 modern action, as far as I know the trapper model only differs in barrel length. Just recently I was messing with a couple of 94's, one in the 5 mill ser range and the other in the 24xx ser range and the stocks fit the tangs on both guns perfectly except at the hammer boss area. The much newer model was "full width" steel at the boss area while the old girl is a bit narrower but at the spring area they are built a bit different (one has the old flat spring and the new model the coil spring mechanism) but the stock cut-out accommodated both easily.

A stock from s model with a leaf / flat spring spring will not directly fit on to a model that has the coil spring assembly for the hammer .

I got a replacement stock for my Winchester 1895 from precision gun works out of Texas if I recall correctly. It's been a few years though(like...10 lol!). Might give them a browse as they had good selection. Although I think most were 90% finished with final inleting/sanding/finishing required by hand.
