Been wanting a used model 94 for some time, just for the collection. There is an antique carbine at the local Canadian tire. It has the scroll work on the reciever, brass saddle ring, and a brass loading gate. I done a search on the serial number, and it's 1969. It's not mint, but it's been looked after. Any idea what it might be worth ? They are asking $400.

That isn't a bad price for a decent late model 94 these days, particularly if you like the decorative features.

Just making sure..........antique is the finish on the receiver and there is nothing antique about that gun. It's a nice carbine and might bring a bit more $$ that a regular 94. (post 64)
If you are looking to collect you might also want to look at older Winchesters, but if you want an newer 94, it's a nice one.

I was just making sure it sounded like a fair price. The age of the gun doesn't really mean a whole lot to me. Always wanted a 94, and this one is in my price range at the time... Might have to go back and grab it lol

Antique ?
LOL

I would suggest considering a plain jane 94 from pre-64 in nice condition. The price will be a touch more but the rifle was built in a time of forged parts and hand fitting.

However the price seems fair enough if it is in real nice condition.

Oh I'd love to have a pre-'64, but around these parts they are extremely hard to come by. Most generally, there isn't much selling guns... Old guns tend to stay in the families. I've been trying to find one for years... And I'm not really much on having a gun shipped to me from elsewhere that I've never seen before.

I missed a peach of a pre 64 in 32 special it sold for 400$ at a local dealers ,I had a chance did not buy it went back and she was gone ,boo hoo ,D

Took me 5 years to find a nice pre-64 at a good price. If you want to see ridiculous prices of pre-64's check out Canadian gun auctions on FB. They hit over 600 $ very time. LOL.

Keep your eye on the EE, that's how I found one locally for under 500 $

Good Trader Ratings are a good start on the EE. Guys with solid feedback will be honest to deal with. I've bought many firearms, maybe $20K worth of them, off the EE or through a board sponsor. Last time I handled a firearm before I purchased it was in 2004.

Post 64 are good rifle's ,look for a late 70's up until the angle eject started. My 75 winnie 94 in 32 special is smoother then my pre 64. All the stamped components are replaced with cast in these guns. Great guns and good value
