.. Winchester "Antique" version, of the Standard Mdl.94. From memory, they cost a little extra, something like $10 or $15, at the time. .... No doubt someone more knowledgeable will come up with a price range for you. .... David K
1968 decidedly not the best year for the '94. The antique version MAY have some of the non stamped parts, (probably not) but it would have to be examined to be sure.
At least some of the dents on the forearm may be what we know as ring dents. General handling can produce them, but more likely when gripped firmly as when being fired at bit.
Hows the rifling?
Most 94's of that vintage in VG+ sell for $250-300 add 50 bucks for the Antique model. These years are the most problematic and least reliable for the 94's, the antique was brought out, as were the various centennial and commerative models to boost the sales of the poor quality 94's of the era.
Not to be too harsh, but they really were a piece of sh!t compared to their older brothers made prior to 64.
These guns are 'worth whatever they sell for'. Put it on the EE at $425 and see what happens. Someone will buy it for around that price shipped is my guess. I must agree, however, with the critique of these model years.
