I bought a nice one here on CGN in July 2018. The stock without chequering - metal in great shape - came with a 4 power Weaver 60-B scope mounted. $850 mailed to me.
XTR in 22 LR,,mint is worth $1000.00 to $1200.00 all day long,i have a mint looks unfired one and turned down $1200.00 many times, the magnum version seems a bit less in demand,
A buddy of mine just bought a really nice one at his LGS, I believe he told me he paid $800. I haven't seen it in the flesh, but the photos sure looked nice.
Interesting thread. I had no idea of the current value.
I recall I purchased mine back in the early 2000s before CGN off an online auction for around $600.
It's complete with orig box and paperwork in excellent condition, but I have shot it. It goes back carefully in its spot in the safe after a cleaning and oiling after every use. The actions is like butter on those lever rifles.
I sold a real nice 9422M on Saturday at the Canora show for $750. It had fired about a half a box. No scope with it. It's the rifle that the Gevelot scope I posted about in "OPTICS".

Thanks, makes me feel a whole lot younger!
If I remember correctly, I paid about $250 for my XTR + some ammo, a sling and a soft case... that was about '83
There was a recent thread about these 9422s. In it, I mentioned that a buddy of mine bought a VERY nice condition one (used though) for $800 a few weeks ago. I sold my minty one maybe 4 years ago for $600~should have held onto it!
Overall, I do like them...but as a person who hates tube mags, I don't feel bad not having one. lol If I'm going to buy a 22 in that $ range and not use it, it'll be a Lee Enfield Trainer.
