Winchester 94ae 45LC

Any thoughts on this rifle? Are they hard to find? What should I expect to pay? Thanks all.

Yes hard to find, but come up every once in a while in the EE. They are only worth $400-$500 but expect to pay up to $800. If cost is a factor look at a Rossi M92.

that's one that I haven't had, that and the 7-30 Waters. I don't even recall seeing a 45 LC, saw the Waters, but didn't go for it at the time.

Well I asked cause one fell into my lap, I have a 45lc ruger blackhawk convertible and the seller knew I wanted a lever gun to go with it, The 94 ae is just so different from my 94 30 30(circa 1941) crossbolt safety, lever safety and the way the hammer sits with that big space in front it, never the less I got it plus reload dies,as well as ammo, and packaging box etc, so I feel blessed considering they seem rare. I look forward to coming up with some spicy deer loads for it, and I was happy to learn that they are side ejecting, Trails End Model BTW.

Is it a trapper or a carbine? Nice score either way, I just started loading some340grGC monsters for the 45, very fun caliber!

20 inch barrel makes it a carbine I think, wow 340gr! there is alot of choice for 45 lc, cool!

yeah, that AE stands for angle eject. You'll learn to live with that cross bolt safety, I know it's a bit of a toad to look at!

previous owner removed it, thats the first thing I noticed, big hole right through the receiver, what the hell?? its not lost, just removed, there is a hammer extension aswell, for scope mounting I guess, does the scope mount to the side of the receiver?

no, on the AE's you can mount the scope on top.
