Winchester 97 problem. Please help.

My winchester 97s takedown tube pops out of the receiver whenever i fire and locks the whole gun up. Is this a common thing? Is there a fix?

The magazine tube shifts forward?
Is it rotated to lock?

Yes sir, its locked and then after firing target loads it jumps out of the threads

Well, that would suggest that either the interrupted threads on the magazine tube or the ones in the receiver have had it.
Let's hope that it is the mag. tube, which is easier to replace.

Threads look brand new!

My guess is improper assembly. If you don't turn it all the way, what you describe can happen.
