For any of you folks looking for the severely back ordered Winchester AA TrAAcker shotshells, Le Baron in Ottawa (and I imagine their other locations) currently have them in stock and they're on special for a nice price.

If you're shooting you will need a spotter to look for the path of the wad for you. Buddy on our squad shot a couple of boxes of the at the club Sunday and I had a hard time determining where he was on the bird with the wad. YRMV.

There's two types, one with a grey wad and one with a bright orange wad. The wad has some lead in it so it travels relatively at the same velocity as your shot pattern so you'll be able to see judging by where the wad is if you shot in front or behind the target.

You have to make sure you're using the right kind whether it's sunny or shady out.

Orange = Cloudy day
Grey = Bright day

Well - we tried both orange and grey. Not much luck with either. We have a lot of trees on the near horizon, which I suspect limited their utility. Shooting one straight into the air against a blue sky gives one the opportunity to see how fast they go.

Well if you didn't miss don't think you'd really need help tracing the shot stream. ;D

Indeed. The point is these are not overly useful except for training with new shooters on stations 3,4,5. The experienced shooter is looking for the blur that is the wad.

An opinion I agree with. Only applicable use is for a coach to see where the shot string went. Eye on the rock, head on the stock and follow through. Any deviation, say, looking for a wad for example, and you will get to hear "LOST" a lot.
