Anyone ever buy Winchester un-primed cases...Looking at picking up some 223, Do you have to trim them or are they already at the proper length?

They should be the correct length out of the bag. I would check the length after first firing to see how much they are stretching.

It's almost certain to be ok without trimming, but measure it to be sure anyway. You will need to neck size, as there will be some dented necks that need to be sized.

I trim and chamfer necks on all my new brass. Makes seating bullets easier and more precise.

To much time with winchester brass primer holes are punched some off center, lots of brass to debure inside primer pockets, weight inconsitant, just buy Lapua a little more expensive but worth it. Just got some 222 rem lapua $70 per 100 from Hirsch a sponser on site

I use Winchester brass most times too. I don't trim them but I do neck size like Cummins4X4... the necks tend to get a little dented from the packaging / shipping.

Check it for cracks, I bought two bags of 100 each 22-250 and had to throw away 30% of them because of cracks and/or splits some extending from the mouth down the neck to half way down the case. Cases were rough and dented and all had to be deburred inside and out. 1/2 doz. wouldn't accept a primer, hole was not round. Contacted Winchester and sent them samples, got a form letter back and a $10.00 gift certificate for more Winchester junk, it cost me more to send them the bloody samples. Returned their letter and certificate, I'll never buy Winchester again:mad:

That's for sure! Winchester and Remington 222 brass is pushing 40 bucks/100 here. For a bit more cash one can purchase Lapua and be done with it. I've got some Lapua 222 on it's 17th loading with only a few neck splits/100...accuracy still 1/2 MOA.

I've found with some bulk brass that it is best to resize, as the production process does not make it uniform. This was noted particularly on Remington bulk.
