winchester breakdown

I just purchased a winchester 94 made in 2006. was wondering if anyone has experience breaking these down for cleaning.

Is it difficult?

i have broken down lever marlins before without issue

any pointers would be appreciated

Get a proper set of Bonanza screwdrivers. You will need them, especially for that itty-bitty little screw that holds the bottom of the frame in place; they are darned solid and the screw has to come out before the pin can be driven out.

I have done 50 of these things and never want to see another.

Every night when I go to bed I curse John Moses Browning and his *(*(^%$* shaper!

Best bet is to hose her down with Brake-Kleen, let it gas off and then lubricate with Break-free CLP. Don't even think about going NEAR it with WD-40!
