Does anyone have any experience with Winchester's Fail Safe bullet loaded in factory ammo? In the principle the bullet looks pretty good with a Barnes type, hollow pointed, copper alley front part and a lead core in the back half.

I have not read anything about their usefullness in practise and wonder how effectively they hold together.

I started shooting them back when they were still called "Black Talon". My hunting party has dropped about 12 moose and a couple black bears with them. The moose have never gone more the 100 yards before dropping, the 2 bears never took another step after being hit.
One of the guy in our hunting party shot a cow moose in the head at about 30 yards(it was all he could see). That 180 gr bullet weighed 168 gr after going through the skull and stopping against the hind on the back of the head.

I used to use the Black Talons in 338win on moose... fantastic moose load. No good on deer though as they didn't expand fast enough for the little buggers and just poked nice little 338 holes in them.

"Dont bother with failsafes. Save your money and go with the balistic silvertip or the accubond." LC PAINTBALLER

What the heck are you basing this on? Anyone who reads the info given on most websites or manufacturer's specs would see that you are comparing apples to oranges. Failsafe=tough bullet, solid bullet (no bonding), expands like a Barnes TSX, high weight retention. Ballistic Silvertip = poly tipped bullet, explosive expansion, poor weight retention. Accubond = a nosler bonded bullet with a thicker jacket better weight retention.
