Can anyone tell me what model this Winchester is, sorry the full rifle picture was corrupted. Also does anyone know what type of sight attached to the post behind the hammer? If it's anyhelp it's chambered in .30 WCF (30-30).

It's a model 94 with saddle ring. The sight appears to be a Lyman and is missing the staff which had an aperture on the top of it. A tang mounted peep sight in other words.

Thats a Lyman alright but I can't tell if it's a 2nd or 3rd variation without seeing the other side of the sight. It should have DA stamped on the bottom of it.

Gonna be hard trying to find a stem for it, been looking for a Marbles stem for about 6 months now.

Date of manufacture was 1899. I'll start looking for the rest of the sight. Does anyone have a picture of an complete one? What does a rifle like this sell for?

Usually see the Lyman DA's on Ebay going for $90-$100, just happens there aren't any on there right now. Wierd, theres usually 2 or 3 running at all times on there, keep your eyes peeled.

Date of Manufacture being 1899, it's an 1894, not a 94 as it was abreviated to in later years. Look after it, it may be worth a buck or two if it's in good, unaltered shape, to a collector. Run of the mill rifles like that can go $400 or so. I bought one about ten years back, a 1910, for $100, it was badly in need of attention.

The complete sight is available from wholesale sports for about $100
I doub't the new Lyman Tang your talking about has interchangeable parts with the old one.
I had one for a while, and I didn't like the way it worked. Seems to me the adjustment was held in place by an O ring or something like that. I think the old version was better.
Marbles also has a tang sight for sale.

Haven't looked at the new lyman site myself, the marbles last I priced was around $140 landed.I don,t know if you can buy them from a canadian dealer or not but Buffalo arms in ythe states will ship them here. And the are very good quality as I got one for my H&R buffalo classic.
