I have 3 of the M1895 Mirokus and they are really well built. Some folks ##### about the tang safety but I've got no problem with it.

Mine are: .270Win, .30-06 & .405Win.

I ve got a miroku 95 saddle ring carbine in 30/06 and an extra light 86 in 45/70 and they are great.Hell the tang safety even comes in handy when your unlaoding the mag.

I just ordered a model 71! I hope I'm not too old to hunt by the time it gets here. They said late summer. I guess we'll see!

^ I bought the .405Win through Cabela's USA a couple years ago, when the Cdn dollar was not near as high as it is today. The gun was listed at $1700US, there was a bunch of transaction fees and such that added quite a bit to the price.

I'd wanted one of those ever since I saw the movie "In the Blood" and then read Theodore Roosevelts book, "African Game Trails", but I'd never seen one for sale since WSS had that initial offering of them in their sales catalogue (years ago). That bunch of M1895's was sold out immediately btw and none of those guns ever hit a store shelf.*
So I always wanted one and decided what the hell and bought it. I went through Questar for that one.

* WSS has them listed in their catalogue again, btw.

The .30-06 I got of the E.E. It was mint. I've killed a moose with it, and love it.

The .270Win was another Cabela's USA gun. It was listed at $1100, which our dollar was nearly at par then, so there wasn't much delta. I went through the most excellent Prophet River Firearms for that one. Cannot say enough good things about those people!
I haven't got around to doing anything with the .270 yet, but I figure on loading up some 160gr Nosler Partitions for it, and going out after black bear with it.

I could figure out a reason to buy a .303Brit or .30US if those came along.

I don't mind the rebounding hammer or tang safety. Not a concern to me.
