Winchester M12 Parts

About 10 yrs back I was trying to do a remodeling job a M-12 20 ga. At the time I could not find a soul in Canada that could/would soldier a steel rib on a barrel. Quite a few would epoxy an aluminum rib on. But thats not what I wanted.

There was lots of talent in the US that were willing to do the work if I could get the gun to them. At the time the all the new paper work, import export regulations were starting to ramp up. I eventually gave up and bought one of the limited run Browning Grade 5 M-12's.

Maybe/ hopefully you will find someone that can do this work for you here in Canada.

Yes you are correct Sommons is one of the folks that will do a nice job of installing a rib. However the issue comes in getting the gun shipped there and back legally. It can be done but it not simple procedure.

There are CGN folks who are much more knowledgable and experienced with this procedure that could give you direction.

It will cost you 400.00 to have simmons install the rib and blue the gun it will all so cost $250.00 if you have a broker here on the canadian side ship the gun . if you have simmons fit the gun with up graded wood another $800.00 ish plus shipping insurance etc, after all that if you should decide you want to sell the gun used market value $600-$700.

There ya have it. You got love your M12 to put yourself through that.

I bought one on the US side for $500.00 had it sent to Simmons Rib and blue $400 shipped it here $250 = $1,250.00 landed. 1948 12ga modified choke Sweet all around bird gun. What's not to love about model 12's.

Poly choke ribs have been around for ever I use to install them back in the 80's 90's if your looking to build a nice model 12 not really the way togo.

I've got a locker full of M12's as well. Several with factory ribs, pigeons and trap guns. Picked up a minty 1956 12 with a factory mod. as well... but she's all field grade after that. Called up Simmons and they were interested but naturally I had to ship it down to them. The guy at Simmons said someone a while ago shipped one down from the Kenora Ontario area. He laughed and said it came with a lot of paperwork though. Kind of put that one on the back burner after that.

Mine went fairly smooth because it was purchased in the USA and shipped from a FFL dealer to Simmons who is a FFL dealer then sent to a FFL dealer in Montana and brought into Canada by Prophet river.sounds like a lot of nonsense but went smooth.
