winchester M70 458 win

These guns are very nice for the price! I just wish they would have put a nice polished bluing on all the metal parts! I guess it is the sign of the times. Dale Z!

I picked up a Super Express a while ago and compared to the Brno 602 I had, I like it a lot more. It just seems to be finished off to a better degree than the Brno.

And for a big bruiser, it shoots well.

John P. I have the same Super Express (375H&H)as you, is yours a push feed or Pre-64 Claw? I agree these guns were finished off in the Olin owned Winchester plant to a greater degree than the new production Winchester Express's. My friend bought a new one in 375 and I must say you get alot for your money, much nicer than the CZ 550 express regular production guns!Dale Z

Push. Mine is fairly new. I keep meaning to check by the serial number but have yet to do so. If you like the model 70, here's another variation you might appreciate and one I had that I gave to a buddy. It's in 300 WM.

^That is one gorgeous Model 70! ^ Is that a custom stock, or did the factory do that?

That's factory. I was told exactly what variation of the model 70 it's classified as and I 'think' it's a vatiation of the Super Grade but I'm not positive. I've had a couple of nice rifles given to me and at the time, 'things' were a little financially tight for my friend. He wanted to go on a Moose hunt, so, long story short, I gave him the rifle and took him on his first Moose hunt. It's a very nice rifle and shoots well but I had just acquired a long sot after Schultz & Larsen in 308 NM

so I thought I'd part with the model 70. I was up to visit my friend in the B.C. interior last fall and he still has it and no intention of selling.
