I've got it stuck in my head that I want to pick one of these up, I'm just starting to do research now. Can anybody recommend a good resource book? How's Bruce Canfield's book? Feedback and picks from owners would be appreciated too.

I found that book on ebay fer a bit cheaper, I've got the Lee Enfield and Garand ones in that series, they're pretty good. I'll take a stab at it.
I'll letchya know if I come across two '97s. ;)
Not much interest here, should I move this to the milsurp threads?
How can I do that?

A buddy of mine has the Norinco M97 copy. He quite likes it.

With the correct bayonet (20ish inches of cold steel) mounted, it's the ultimate old school zombie gun. :)

I have a real winchester trench gun and the proper bayonet with a 1907 sling on the gun.....It's one big heavy package...But it puts one hell of a big smile on my face every time.:D :D

I'd better go play with it right now.:p

MUAHAHAHA!

Yes, it is old-school and has that 'je ne sais quoi' that makes it real fun.

That's what I'm talking about. Beats the hell outta trimming the hedges with a weed whacker. What's the ballpark value on a fine grooming tool like that?
Or anybody who has one and prefers 14" 870 police magnums, drop me a line!

LOL, the weeds get darned scared when they see this puppy come out.....but then so do the neighbours.....and then the cops come by....but they aren't so scared, more like peeved off.

Anyhow :p I paid $750 for the Trench and another $125 for the Winchester Bayonet with the C broad arrow. I had a Norc Trench but sold it when I got this one....it was a placeholder anyhow.

It's a bayonet with an optional shotgun attached to it.
Kind of a clearing tool for the bayonet: stab the zombie, shoot to clear the blade, repeat as needed...
PP.:p

My sentiments EXACTLY. Its what I tell the guys I shoot military three gun with. :D
