I have a chance to buy a 12 Ga ,Mod 2200 Winchester Shotgun.The gun has a few handling marks, but otherwise is in realy great shape. He said he has only put 2 or 3 boxes of shells thru it since he bought it new several yrs ago.I am just wondering what is the most I should expect to pay for it, as he said make me an offer,and I don't wanna be an El Cheapo, but would like to pay him a fair price.

Your thoughts please !!!!!!!!!

my first gun was a mdl 2200.... approx value would be around the $200 - $250 mark with the fixed choke that is standard on them. if he has one with choke tubes the $250 would be better.

although depends... might go as high as $300 for mint condition
 
I've been using the the same 2200 for grouse for parts of the last 20 years(more than a few boxes). It's a warhorse, very reliable and highly recommended.
 
IIRC ... the Winchester Mod 2200 was a less expensive version of the original Model 1200, which after a few changes, became the Mod. 1300 in the late 70's, early 8o's.

For a Winchester 2200 with fixed choke, IMHO, I wouldn't go any more than
$ 150 in very good condition.
