winchester Model 100-284

thanks

I myself have shot approx 50 rounds thru this gun without incident during load development etc and when i aquired it a few weeks ago I took out of the reloads and factory ammo anything that was discolored, messed up bullet nose etc 8-10 shells and fired them to see about all the jamming etc and it performed flawlessly done into the sand back in the pit next door
have the gun seperated from the stock and it is quite clean a friend last year who has a hunt camp and 6 Model 100 hunters gave it a good cleaning at the end of last years hunt for the kids.
I am going to refinish the stock and reassemble with a decent scope and do some test shots I firmly believe it will be 1-2" groupings which will be fine with me, that way I wont bed the stock and leave it as original as possible.
when it is back together probably mid Jan I will post a couple of pictures

thanks again for your interest I can spell Lake Temiskiming, Temagami

I loaded for a model 88, use Win 760, WLRM, 140 partitions. Accuracy is ok for hunting, 1 1/2" to 2" groups, 3000 fps range. It is difficult to use some of the larger bullets as they want to push into the case because of the ogive location. I also found H4831SC gave better accuracy, and very low ES/SD. The case is full using it, so the bullet will not push in. Pressures were lower with it, but 100 fps slower as well. I had more of the 760 around so stuck with it. I would try 160 partitions for all around and big animals, with RL17, and H4831SC.
