Hi,
friend has an old Winchester semi auto model 140 that im trying to fix. when the gun's safety is off the trigger can move back a bit but the sear does not disengage from the hammer. I took the trigger group out and it looks like the disconnecter spring seen below :
#44 seems to be bent but im not sure why it would cause the hammer to not drop. any ideas? I tried taking it out and bent it back but it didn't seem to help.

that is the spring in question.
anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
thank you.
