I'm sure it's been asked before - but I didn't have much luck with the search engine on here or a general internet search. I found a few breakout/exploded diagrams - but all post '64, and no detailed step-by-step cleaning/stripping procedures.

I've read enough to know that taking one apart isn't for the faint-of-heart. I'd at least like to see the details and judge for myself if I'm capable of doing it.

Can anyone point me to a decent reference for pre-64 Win model '94 maintenance?

Thanks in advance -
GC.

They stay pretty clean for the most part, if out in the rain, I will flood the chamber area, well not that bad, but enough to reach all working parts with oil, let it drain placing the gun muzzle down on a foam or rubber pad , perched in the corner of the safe (don't want oil to run back to the tang) and soften the wood back there. The next day , I clean up the oil that may be on the follower, lower lever, mag tube etc, and store normal, butt down.
Now this is not a large amout of oil , just enough to get in everwhere(and work the action lever to move it around).
For the bore, a snake :) Never clean barrels from the muzzle ;) A soft cotton patch oiled to clean the fouling off the crown
