Winchester Model 1895 carbine jam?

I have a couple of Winchester Model 1895s. One of them a 303 carbine will not totally open the action. It will only go part way before it stops. This is a new problem. It always worked fine until lately. The hammer will not #### either when the action is closed. Any ideas?

While I am not specifically familiar with the '95, it sounds as though your problem might be caused by over torquing the screws which go through the frame. Back off these screws then bring them to just snug. If the action loosens up, remove each screw, put a dab of Loktite on the threads, then replace the screw, tightening to just snug.
