Can anyone tell me much about this lever action shotgun?

And is it possible to cut down 3.5inch plastic hulls for this shotgun?

IIRC, Kents does load a 2 7/8s birdshot load. Can anyone confirm this to be true??
And is this shotgun plastic hull friendly or is it a repeater with paper hulls only!?!

Thanks in advance guys and gals........

I haven't seen or heard of any companies producing 2 7/8" 10 ga loads in years. The 3.5 took over many moons ago as the standard 10ga load. I have come across 2 7/8 loads at gun shows in my travels but they have always been reloads. I would think if you have a 10 ga press that is adjustable for different hull lengths like a Mec is for 12 ga loads then you should be able to trim down some 3.5" hulls to what you need and find a decent load in a reloading manual. Last bunch of 2 7/8" loads I acquired were 1 7/8 oz loads of #5 shot reloads in a Remington hull and cycled fine in my 3.5 Gold 10

^Interesting info indeed. I'm pretty sure I have some 3" 12 gauge factory shells loaded with exactly the same weight of payload: 1 7/8 ounce of BB lead.
I'm kind of kicking around the idea of buying one of these older 10 gauge beasts.

maybe or maybe not.....

RST shotshells makes a 2 7/8 inch cartridge. I am not sure if they have a distributor up here. Maybe Clay can bring some up for you?

I cut down plastic hulls for mine and use some old 10 data for her. She works well. I used glued in over shot cards, because I don't own a roll crimp, and I didn't feel like star crimping at that point as I was just testing. It works well, but if you fire more than 2 rounds (fill the mag tube) the cards will eventually come loose on the ones in the tube and you will have a mess on your hands. So crimping is required if you want to fire more than 2 rounds in sequence.

Fun shotgun to shoot.

Just remember it isn't made for steel, so load only lead. Hunting rules suck, because I'd love to bring down a goose with mine, but the steel only ruins it for me "gots to go modern" instead.
