Hello guys,

I have the opportunity to buy a wimchester model 1907 with two clips and a old box of ammo.
I'm not sure yet how much he wants for it. Is there anything I should look for or any known problem with those? She was made in 1908. There is no cracks or split in the wood. Also how much would be a reasonable price for this.

Thank you

Nice old rifles. Not a lot of collector interest at the present time, but a fun rifle to shoot.Cracks in the forends are a usual thing for these rifles. You say this one has none, which is a good thing. What condition is the rifle in with the wood finish and bluing?

Sometimes the buffers in these old rifles can be in bad condition due to age and/or use.

I have two of these old rifles.

There is a fellow on this site. who is an expert on them.Perhaps he will chime in on this thread.

Thank you for the info! The rifle appears in pretty good condition. Wood is darkened. It has checkering. Is that something common? Everyone of them that I have seen online don't have it. There is blue loss but no rust. Bore seems good. What do you do for bullets?

Non standard bullet diameter makes the 351SL a PITA to get/make ammo for.
Your standard off the shelf .357/.358" dia bullets are too big.

Want a bush rifle in a 35 straight wall cartridge for deer get a Marlin 1894 in 357 mag.
A lot less hassle getting ammo/reloading components, much more accurate.

I would guess without a pic ,box of ammo, extra mag ,correct sights and as described in clean condition with worn original blueing I would comfortably pay $500-650 for it ,,,then again depending on the blueing (not reblued and quality of checkering )as I have not seen it

If its a uncommon deluxe that would be a great find but will need pics as they are usually gorgeous wood and different acroutments

Thanks for your answer guys! However I think I will pass. If anyone is interested I can get the info of the seller for you. He is not to far from Guelph , Ontario.
