I have a Winchester Model 22 SxS 12 Gauge (2 3/4 in) that I am trying to find a value on.

I purchased it in Germany in 1977 or 78. I know it was manufactured in Spain under contract to Winchester for sale internationally.

I have used it over the years for hunting and it has a couple of dings in the stock but overall the gun is in what I would rate good condition. But I'm no expert on gun condition.

It has double triggers and no extractors, and I doubt it is rated for steel. More of an upland gun.

In my search of the internet I can only find a few references to the gun and a "mint" condition one for sale for $1600 (USD). I know I cannot ask that for it but would consider selling if I could find a fair price for the gun.

Piglet, an interesting gun. They were made by Laurona for Winchester. Laurona ceased production of SXS guns in 1978, so yours should be near end - of - the - line. The Laurona SXS's seem to sell for about $500 in Canada. The Winchester version should command a premium, both because of the name and the generally higher level of finish. Your gun has extractors, not ejectors and the blued frame does not help the value (a coin finish or case hardening does). On the plus side the gun is equipped with a hidden third fastener and bushed strikers with gas vents. Does it have an automatic safety? I will venture a wild guess and say that in Canada today it is worth about $700. I am not very good with values, so please take this with a grain of salt.

As Sharptail said, an interesting gun.

The FM on the barrel flats indicate a Laurona. It has the standard heavy proof marks of a Spanish gun. Somewhere on the barrel flats should be a year of proof code. To find out when your gun was made try this site.

Unlike every Laurona that I can recall seeing this one doesn't have a cross lock bolting system.

ANYTHING marked Winchester attracts a premium even when the guns are made by someone else. To me a Lauona is a Laurona no matter who's name is stamped on the barrels but to the many Winchester fanatics these guns will draw a premium because I don't think they are as common as the Japanese-made Model 23 (and the price of those are going up too).

Depending on condition, barrel length, chokes, etc. I'd think around $700 to $1,000 but that is a wild-assed guess at best.

The barrels are 28" and, as you can see by the pictures, there are a few dings in the stock that can be expected from a field gun.

I have been looking for Winchester collectors in Canada, but the forums seem to be all U.S. based. Should really be no surprise there though as they are likely to have a large base of Winchester owners.

Anyone know of a Canadian Winchester club?
