Winchester Model 25

I inherited an old one from an uncle.
I guess they are all pretty old? 50's vintage?
You don't see much about the 25 on the net.
I was thinking about using it for ducks but decided I probably shouldn't be putting steel shot down the barrel?

It was made to be shot! Get the choke opened to light modified by a gunsmith and stick to the lower velocity steel loads. You won't need anything bigger than #3 shot for most ducks...unless you live on either of the coasts and have Eiders in sight...then #1 shot is what you'll want and you'll never run enough thru the gun to damage the barrel anyway.

Yeah, not a steel-friendly gun. Most likely Full choke, right? Good for pheasant, trap, sh!ts & giggles in the back 40, crows, etc.

But yeah, quality guns.

Not my words but some more data
Model 25
This model is similar in appearance to the Model 12 but does
not have the takedown feature. All guns were solid frame. The
Model 25 was furnished in 12 gauge with 26" or 28" plain round
barrel, plain walnut pistol-grip stock with grooved slide handle.
This was an attempt by Winchester to introduce a less expensive
version of the Model 12. Introduced in 1949 it was
dropped from the product line in 1954 having sold about
88,000 guns.
