I am new to this site, looking for a bit of help finding the aprox. value of a model 54 Winchester 3006. Sorry I do not have any photos yet, I hope to take some in the next few days, still not sure how to post them. I am hoping to trade for a bps 28 gauge, not sure if that is realistic. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Corey

The Model 54 was the predecessor of the Model 70. A Model 54 in 30/06 would have to be special in some respect to be especially valuable. Exceptional condition, special features, historical significance, or some other factor. In general, the value is based strictly on condition. In common condition, I would have trouble seeing a value of more than four to five hundred dollars; even at today's inflated values.

I have a Win model 54 in .270WCF serial # 5 and even with that low serial number , I doubt I would get more than 8 bones for it. And it could conceivably be one of, if not THE oldest .270 in the world. Seeing as the .270 win was introduced with the model 54!!!!

I think every one of you guys rated a 30-06 Springfield at too high a price.
Look at it this way, there is zero collector value in it.
The bolt is terribly in the way of mounting a scope.
The two piece firing pin is not desirable.
I would put 250 as top of the line, but that is 50 more than I would pay for it, meaning my top price is 200, if condition and other factors are good.
