Winchester model 61 Value

I have the opportunity to purchase a Winchester model 61 chambered for 22 short, long & LR. It is in good condition and appears to have all original parts. There is a small chip in the rear stock near the trigger guard and the but plate has a small peice missing. There is verry little wear on the stock. There is some bluing wear near the breach. Someone also tapped it for a side mount scope . Would $250 be overpaying for it.

Condition is everything ... $ 250 not out of line for an altered "non-collector"

Diver its quite likely that $250.00 for that gun is more or less a STEAL, if it happens to have an octagonal barrel its an even bigger steal. If it happens to have a peep sight mounted behind the reciever its a steal. And if it shoots well that too would be an added bonus. FS
