My very good buddy (left his name out in case he didn't want anyone else to know
) lent me this old Winchester 69A to 'play' with. So I took it to the range last night and boy oh boy...that rifle made me feel like Superman!!
At 25M, the bullseye was virtually one ragged hole. At 50M, all the bullets were within a small area (about 2 thumbprints) just below the bullseye. I guess the fact that I could hardly see the target at that distance had a part to play in that. But I've never had so much fun at the range before!!
The guy next to me told me I should've used a special 50M target...apparently its to help see better through the diopter sight that the rifle had. Wasn't too sure what he meant, but he probably knew what he was talking about (he had two very expensive-looking biathlon type rifles, these type generally know what its about).
Anyway, just wanted to share the top-of-the-world feeling after shooting that model 69A
I just purchased a Marlin 60 and hopefully, that thing's gonna be as accurate as the Winchester is...otherwise, gee, looks like I might have to start looking for my own Winchester 69A.
