Bought one of these off the net.

What was winchester thinking when they put this bell and Carlson stock on it?
Super thick in the grip and forearm, longer than neccesary forearm for a 22" barrel. The rest of the rifle seems fine but why wouldn't they slim the stock down? Gross stock, semi- gross gun...

I really prefer the plastic stock that comes on a Hawkeye or Abolt over this...

Anyone else dislike it?

I like the stock with the exception of the real long length of pull. I wanted to shorten mine and ended up breaking it. Now I have a Boyds laminate on it. The recoil pads are epoxied on, so removing it is no easy task.

I didn't hate it but it wasn't great.

Replaced it with a McEdge Sako Hunter pattern. If I were to do it again, I'd just go standard fiberglass w/ gel coat finish.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, the b&c stock is a far better stock than any of the Tupperware ones you get on most synthetic rifles. Bit heavier but it's way more recoil friendly, tougher and doesn't get dinged up as easily.

I did not mind it at all, except for the grip section which was a bit thick. It's a good, tough stock. Handle before you buy and if you do't like it, don't buy one. Easy.

X2

It's a huge step up from the tubberwear that is included on so many rifles nowadays. I like a fatter grip though.
