Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather - Where to Buy

M70 EXTREME WTHR SS,NS,7MM RM On Order

Browning/Winchester have zero available in North America at the moment in their warehouse

WSS in Edmonton has a couple in 30-06 and 300 Winny on the rack...wait for the 7 Remmy if that's what you want...I wouldn't mind one myself but that 26" tube is a deal breaker and with the flutes I can't chop it back.....makes the short mags more attrtactive...

I'd love to read about someone's experience owning one.. what the accuracy is like etc. I'm looking to pick up something in a stainless synthetic and have been contemplating a t3 or an extreme weather SS. The winny seems like more rifle for the money.. better stock, no plastic parts etc. But would it have accuracy comparable to a tikka, generally speaking? I have no idea. Decisions decisions..

I am looking at getting one in .270 and would love to hear from someone who has bought one as well. I have handled one in the store and they are nice.

I have one of these guns, in 325wsm. I dont have a bad thing to say about it, and those that have shot it seem quite impressed. I have played with a bunch of loads, however all loads have been with 200gr accubonds. Tried rl 17, 19, imr4350, and imr 4007ssc. The winner was 4007, with 100yd groups like you see below. Velocity was just above factory, at 3000fps with no pressure problems.
It is very flat shooting, and I had Dennis Sorenson put a brake on it, and that made a very big diff on recoil. Yes its louder, but we all wear good muffs so its not a factor.

I wouldnt hesitate to get another, and after comparing it to my bud's savage 300wm and rem 700 7mmrm, and a tikka t3 270wsm, this M70 325 is a winner when comparing groups, recoil, and long range Ooomph (we shoot 8" round 1/2" steel at 400, 500, and 600yds, the 325 def has the deepest penetration (but expected with the heavy bullet))

The long barrel (then add brake) isn't an issue for me, but to each their own!

I have stripped it for cleaning, and its easy to do - the trigger is adjust and is pretty good for a factory setup.

If you reload, dont be scared to get a wsm, as they are a great little round despite the bad vibes some give it. I havent met nor read about too many (if any) who complain about them after they shoot them and see what they can do. I know everyone that has shot mine has really really liked it.

Oh yeah - got mine at WSS

So what else can you tell us about it? Have you had to the range yet, or worked up a load for it? Any feeding issues with the wsm in this unit?

nope! showed up the day after i left for my tour on fantasy Island. I will get to play with it when I'm home in a month or so.

I'm more then a little excited to work up loads for it, how can you not like 160ge TTSX @ 3350fps? or a 250gr Woodleigh RN @ 2600?
