Hello,

I inherited a Winchester Model 70, post-64 (1975), heavy barrel, .308 from my dad when he passed on. I recently discovered a crack that was then repared with West epoxy. Should the stock crack again (I still use the gun to hunt) and become unrepairable, could anyone tell me where I could find a suitable replacement stock (walnut, Monte Carlo comb, cut checkering, black forearm tip, pistol grip cap, white line spacers, satin finish)?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm not sure if they are a sponsor, but there is a place with the compound name of western gun parts that might help. You have to buy their catalogue in order to see what inventory they have. It might help to call ahead.

I've seen them on Ebay and on EE in the Parts and Bits section fairly often. If I were you I'd buy one when I saw it because like anything else they aren't going to get easier to find.

FWIW, I have bought parts from Western without ever having bought their "expensive" catalog.

Richards Microfit Stocks offers many different styles or stocks in many different types of wood from common walnut to exhibition grade and several different laminates. He also offers custom barrel channels. Worth checking out.
