Okay so here is my issue.

I have a (what I believe to be 1970-1971 winchester
Model 70 chambered in 338 win mag.Post 64)
(push feed bolt)

I assume previous owner at some point used loctite
On the action screws.

Thus resulted in drilling of the rear screwdamaging the trigger gaurd. Not all the way through but kind of oblonged the hole.

I have searched high and low for said post 64 2 piece bottom metal for the trigger gaurd and have not found it.

It is my understanding the post 64 is .100" wider than the pre 64.

Although I could get the pre 64 to work by bedding around it I would prefer to use the POST 64 trigger gaurd.

Does anyone have any insight to where a guy may find one?

I think it's aluminum as a magnet doesn't stick and based off of some research.
could I tig weld the hole and re drill with success?

Get a gunsmith to build a blued steel washer and inlet the rear of the trigger guard to accept it. Epoxy the two together. Might be a good time to bed the stock at the same time.

Homestead parts or Numrich. Maybe Brownells or Midway. Having a custom part made, or doing as Buckmastr suggested is an option, but it shouldn’t be that hard to find the part. Just takes patience and searching.

Winchester parts are very hard to find
Getting the one's that work is difficult!
Still trying on a couple of m70's
