Winchester model 74 .22 stove pipe issues.

A friend of mine dropped off his .22 for me to clean and talked to me about stove piping issues. I cannot find much with issues with this gun by Google. He says it does this every time he goes through a magazine.
Has anyone had this issue before. Interested in comments otherwise I will try some different ammo.

I believe that's the rear tube magazine style semi?
If my memory serves me correct, it has a long firing pin that
doesn't like to be dry fired.
I wonder if it's hanging up on return?
Probably a tare down, clean and oil might be in order?
