Winchester model 94...date finder?

What is the website that you can go to to put in part of the serial no#, to figure out when a Model 94 was made.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that based on some no#'s / letters, etc that you can tell when it was made pre64 / post 64.

Thanks, however that is not quite what I was looking for. I only have a portion of the serial no#. And wanted to look up based on the digits I have.

Maybe that was a browning site, not winchester.....

How could you look it up if you don't have all the serial #s??

Easiest way to tell pre from post 64 is to check the lever lock pin!
Round is pre & stamped square is post

I've found it before somehow.

One of mine is 999,### (not too far from just under the first million made.) It is a 1927.

General Guideline for Win. 94's :

Less than 2,600,000 = Pre - '64.

Year ranges listed in back of " Blue Book of Gun Values "
