Tried out the winchester powermax ammo for hunting, once the rifle was sighted in i was able to take a fairly large bull elk. The only recovered bullet still weighed 148 gr with 4 perfectly formed petals mushroomed out (the ammo to start was 7mm rem mag, 150 gr php) the ammo groups as well as any other i have tried in the rifle.

Kinda sold me on the ammo, think it will be my go to hunting round for the 7mm!
 
I bought a box of .308 powermax to try out my Israeli Mauser one day. Price was right. Quality control was ####. They are supposed to be JHP, but only about 11 of the 20 rounds actually had hollowpoints, the other 9 bullets looked more like shoddily made FMJ. Nice to hear you had good hunting results with yours.
 
Well the recovered round went through a rib, through the lung's, through the hide on the other side of the chest then into the bottom shoulder joint.

A few of the rounds did not look to be php like you state, upon closer inspection it was just packaging stuck in the point, all of the rounds turned out to be the same once the junk ws blown out of the tip.
