Just have to ask, but does anyone know what date or serial# can be considered "Pre-Portuguese" and "Post Portuguese Winchester model 70? The term is bound to be as common as is "Pre-64"amongst Winchester fans. Will be interesting to watch how it plays out (for those who care).
Cheers

Afaik, they are still moving, haven't made any in Portugal yet. Also, I bet quality will be as good or better. They have there own stock making facility in Portugal, and should have better wood, better fitting.

The stocks on the South Carolina M70's were supplied by Boyds, and apparently almost half had to be sent back due to quality issues.
