My dad has a Win 1200/1300 or whatever. The woodstocked version of the defender.

Anyways, the other day he had it jam on him. He fired a shell, ejected the spent shell and pushed the pump ahead to chamber the next shell. The bolt wont completely close. He is saying it doesnt feel like its binding, more like its stopping dead just short of where it should be.

I cant really think of anything it might be. Has anyone else had this problem??? I was kinda hoping it was a common thing and easily diagnosed and fixed. Might save me a long drive to have a look at it.

Thanks.

Maybe a soft debris got lodged into one of the locking lugs receptacles?
Pull the barrel and look at the locking lugs recesses.Examine the bolt's movement
While at it, put the safety on and get the trigger group out so you can see if there's something interfering with the movement of the mechanism.
