Winchester Ranger-what action is this?

I have a winchester Ranger bolt action 30-06 that has a cracked stock.
If I'm to replace this stock what action of a stock should I look for?

The Ranger is just a low priced, no frills trim model of the Model 70.

This gun don't have a floor plate or a detachable magazine.
Is it possible to update it or is that a waste of time and money?

You've got a "blind magazine". You can purchase the bottom metal from Pacific Tool & Gauge.

By the time you do stock and floorplate upgrades, you could sell the Ranger and buy a new M70 for less $$...

Unless he wants a lighterweight 70 for hunting. Then he will be set right up. I have two of these rifles (one that does have bottom metal), they are an under rated rifle. - dan
