What better way to feed your growing stable of 1911s than to use high-quality Winchester ball ammunition designed to replicate military service grade .45ACP in an affordable package for high volume shooters? Winchester has recreated their old-school ball loading for pistol shooters whose competition schedule, budget, or firearm choice demands high-quality, extremely reliable FMJ ammunition at a great price -- these rounds are new manufacture, new brass, reloadable, with sealed primer pockets and Winchester 230gr FMJ projectiles. This is the same type of load spec the US Army demanded for use with the 1911 and which started generations of 1911 collectors and .45ACP fans, and is perfect for use with John Browning's most famous design or newer pistols sharing the same caliber thanks to the reliable feeding characteristics of ball .45ACP cartridges.

I haven't bought factory ammo in well over a year since I reload, but the thought of opening 500 shiny, brass-cased .45 rounds makes my heart skip a beat.

I read "caselot" and, thinking case=1,000 rds, subliminally ignored the "500 rounds" . Seemed like a great deal on that basis! #needremedialreadinghelp:rolleyes:

I must admit I'm a little confused. When I read "service grade" and "affordable package for high volume shooters" I was thinking discount bulk ammo.....sort of a Winchester no name/house brand. The picture of the plain brown box kind of supported that in my mind.

At 66 cents a round it seems like it's more "better quality" to me and just a step below the specialty self defense stuff. Maybe "service grade" is meant to mean better than average quality?

I just saw case and 45acp and 329.99 and rushed to order some. Gary was kind enough to let me cancel the order once I reread the post and realized it was 500rds and not a case of 1,000. Props to Wanstalls for good customer service!

Regular WWB are 830 FPS those service ones are 865 fps, got my hand on few boxes this fall, this is duty ammo of great quality, i will order some... JP.
