winchester spx defender ?

Well...

Well, I can not speak for the shotgun, but the ten boxes of Winchester PDX1 Defender 12 gauge just arrived, and I am content... It will do a fine job in my Benelli M4.

Now, I will be first to admit I have to get out & shoot the stuff... as it jsut arrived. I do not expect to be disappointed. Yes, also in the picture is some .45acp Hornady Critical Defense I ordered... though that stuff, for my handgun, would be the last resort.

I have one but unfortunately I haven't fired it yet. The fit and finish is VERY nice. It cycles snap caps very nicely, if that means anything. It's surprisingly light. The finish on the receiver is really nice and modern looking with subtle red accents. It loves to attract finger prints though! I paid $319 for mine at the Stittsville Shooting Range gun shop. I would love to be able to put on ghost ring sights for this gun as I don't think the front bead sight will be that great during actual use.

The buttpad on the field version is wicked. Can shoot trap all afternoon and not get beaten up the least bit. I expect the defender is the same. Cycles the Winchester Universal stuff that my friend's 870 routinely chokes on with no troubles.

Had mine out for the second time this weekend, I absolutely love it...

The speed-pump takes some getting used to (it will unlock and partially cycle the action for you upon firing) but once you are used to it, it is a very smooth gun to shoot...

I picked up the field/camp combo, which means I have the long forearm unfortunately, but I do get both barrels, plus removable chokes on the 28" barrel...

Go for it, you won't be disappointed!

Matt

I have one to take with me scouting and camping. I like it a lot and have no issues. I wish I spent a little more and got the combo pack with both barrels. It's ease to take apart and I have not had a issue feeding or firing any ammo.

Just wanted to say that I took the SPX out to the range a couple weeks ago. I put 250 shells through it without one issue. This shotgun is FAST! It is exceptionally smooth compared to the 870 and the Stevens 350 I have used in the past. For $319, what an incredible value! Highly recommended.
