Winchester Stealth II or just Stealth?

Hey guys. I've got a Winchester Model 70 Stealth. I'm not sure if it's a I or II. The seller is pretty adamant that it's a II but I kinda doubt it. There was some talk of the II's being built in a different plant but I can't find any info on this other than the gun in the second picture has the inscription of New Haven, CT and mine is Morgan, Utah. Can the gun gods clear this up for me?

I owned ALL of the THREE Stealth models (even the older Hvy Varmint versions). I was pleased with every single one.

The BACO (Browning Arms Co, Morgan, Utah) is a hint that it's the FN (owned) model of the Stealth.

If memory serves me correctly the Stealth used the HS Precision stock (and slotted screws) with a 2 piece magazine/floorplate assembly. Been a long time since I owned and then sold my Stealth back in the late 1990's.

My Stealth II by USRAC was made with a Bell and Carlson stock (slimmer pistol grip, which I happen to like) and a ONE piece bottom metal (2 screws only, like my Rem M700's). That rifle was what I shot at the 2005 DCRA NSCC PR matches and we came in 4th Sniper team overall. I was pleased. Owned that baby from 2003 to 2007. Should never have sold it! :cool:

Then when FN came out with the BACO made Stealth rifles, I had to have another. BUT in a moment of weakness, I sold it to return back to the M700 family of which I own 3 right now. I sold that Stealth .308 at a great loss, but hey, another CGNutter is currently giving it a good home.

So, does this help things out?

So, if I understand that correctly, I have the "latest" model of Stealth. Is it considered a Stealth or a Stealth II? Or would it be a BACO or FN Stealth? I just want to be clear in the case that I sell the beast. I wouldn't want to misinform anyone.
 
It would seem to be titled a "Stealth". And of course made at the BACO factory (also owned by FN, IIRC). There.... clear as mud? :D

Thanks anyways, even if my heart is with the Model 70 rifles, I have 3 Remmy M700's for hunting and for LR competition. My latest build by CGN dealer juanvaldez and I just returned from the DCRA NSCC National PR matches and I'm anxiously waiting for the results. :cool:

I shot my personal best this time around. Life is great.

Mine is a .308. I'll give her a go. If it turns out to be more accurate than my Savage 12FVSS in .308 I might have a decision on my hands. I definitely like the look and feel of it.
 
I have the Stealth II in .308 and love it. Shoots very good with my current load using 168gr SMK's. A good friend has the same rifle in .223WSSM whioch is really something to shoot!

I have two Rem 700 and like Barney said the stocks on the Stealth's are a lot more comfortable with a better fitting palm swell. The 700P's have an exaggerated palw swell which is not as comfortable as you would think .

Enjoy the Stealth.. you can't go with it.

the stealth has a h.s precision stock, and the stealth 2 has a bell and carlson. the bell and carlson has checkering around the pistol grip and the h.s dosent.
 
Wasn't the Stealth II a push feed and the latest Stealth (2010 Shot specials?) a CRF? Would love to get my hands on a CRF Stealth.
