I know that the early model 1982 Winchester and 1894 stocks are interchangeable . How about the buttstock for a 1886 . Will it fit the 1894 or 1892 ? I've got a broken 1894 stock and may have access to an 1886 unit but would like some input first . Thanks to all that respond .

86 stocks are different.
Yup. Hard things to come by now but are around if you have deep pockets.
Pre 64 1894 and 1892 are absolutely interchangeable pre1950 or so. Butt stocks are interchangeable. Forends of the 38/40 and 44/40 1892 are same as 1894. 25/20 and 32/20 1892 have smaller magazine tube diameter and will not work on the 1894.
