I see these around every so often, and I know they are extremely well built gas guns, all steel, (supposedly Winchester lost money on every one it sold) and they do balance beautifully, albeit heavy guns. What is a field model, 28" Full, in VG condition worth?

I can't see myself lugging one around for grouse, nor would it be steel friendly for ducks. If it had a skeet barrel it would be great, but I have a skeet auto already. I could use it for trap with that Full barrel . . .

Strange, but I find I can't find a niche for this gun in my locker.

Field guns in good shape $ 300 - 350

Trap & Skeet Guns in good shape $ 500

They make a very good skeet gun, normal sort of gas-gun cleaning, and watch to keep the buffer in the back end of the receiver in good shape.
Shot a ton of clay targets with one .. but alas, it's gone. Would rather have one of these than any of the Remington auto-loaders, ( even a good, original 58 Skeet) and a hard choice whether X1 or Beretta 391. Know an "AA" shooter that has horded a number of these ... his favourite 12 ga. Tournmament gun.

So if I can't find a spot in my locker, looks like others have the same trouble. Kind of a shame, somehow, that such a well built and designed shotgun is worth so little.

Yes indeed, it's a shame you can't find a use for it...
My first shotgun was a Super-X field with a 26" imp. Mod. barrel. It served me good. A few years ago my dad gave me his Field with a 30" full... They are both sitting in the safe, waiting for an occasion to come out and play.

Mike.
